The syllabus is a document meant to serve a number of purposes including but not limited to informing the student about:

  • Course policies
  • ¬†Institution policies
  • Due Dates
  • Contact Information
  • Assignment Generalities
  • Overview of Course Objectives

In our course we discussed how to make a syllabus more engaging.  One from of engagement is to create a graphic syllabus, allowing information to be represented visually and in a potentially interactive manner.

Below you will see the graphic syllabus I created for my Biology course.  The syllabus is focused on course learning objectives but also includes time frame, skill sets, and a relative outline for the main authentic assessment, an independent research project.

By clicking on the syllabus you will see a larger version and a pdf can also be downloaded.
